As the class of 2024 enters their final year of school, I'm sure our college counselors on campus are emphasizing the importance of submitting college applications as a senior. Even though I am a junior I know it can be stressful as a student to be pushed to write for RTTC (Road To & Through College). As much as it would be nice to have a relaxing final year, I'm here to say for the seniors' last year it is important to sweat the small stuff.
Although it's their jobs to be constantly pushing and encouraging students to submit college applications early on, the counselors are right, it makes a huge difference. Submitting college applications in your senior year is extremely important because it's making your life easier. By submitting early, you as a student are being proactive. You prove to whatever college you're applying to that you are prepared and ready. It also gives you a sense of satisfactory and pride when you finish something early, "do NOT lie to me and say you don't feel good about yourself when you're ahead of everyone else."
Right now, we have some amazing counselors that are willing to help with any questions you may have when creating your application. Reach out to Tate, Solano, or Frausto if you need any guidance on your future college career. Remember seniors, that the time you have left is short and that taking advantage of all the resources you have while still in high school can be very beneficial.
